In Excel, users have the opportunity to work with documents created in older versions of this spreadsheet editor in its more modern editions (and vice versa). This is implemented through a reduced functionality mode (compatibility mode), which “cuts down” functions, options and commands at the level of the version of the program in which the document was originally created.
